LEGO City - No Limits is the electrifying and hilarious YouTube series that follows the No Limits crew in their adventures around the city!
Car wizard MechMax, techgenius Bytz, nature-lover Wanda and Just Jason find themselves in all sorts of shenanigans as they try to find out who is the mysterious NOFACE.
As the artists approached creating the sprawling city in No Limits, they had to consider all the tiny details to give character to the area and, of course, the huge cast of characters who would populate it.
The citizens of the city were created from the plastic base up, from hair pieces to different outfits. It was important that each LEGO person’s personality shone through. Though ‘No Limits’ is a 3D show, the details in the facial expressions are created with all 2D rigs. Tiny details like line weight and positioning were carefully considered to make sure the faces felt true to LEGO.
Using Redshift and Maya to create many different kinds of blocks in every colour of the rainbow with transparencies and reflection levels, the goal was to create a tactile look that made you feel like you could hold the objects in your hand.
