Following the success of the Meet the Alphablocks app, we're delighted to announce the release of Alphablocks Letter Fun, a fun-packed app that helps preschoolers develop the essential phonics skills they need to learn to read.
Alphablocks is the incredibly popular CBeebies show, made by reading experts and animated by us, in the Zoo. Now in its 8th year, the much-loved programme’s fun approach to phonics is widely used at home and in schools in the UK, and has helped over a million children master key reading skills.
About the App
In Alphablocks Letter Fun, children can get to know all twenty-six Alphablocks by playing four fun mini-games with each: Bubble pop!, Paint me!, Favourite things and Hide and seek - all encouraging little ones to get to grips with letters and their sounds. Players can also switch the app from letter sounds to letter names so they can have fun learning the alphabet too, and sing along with the memorable Alphablocks alphabet song that makes learning letters a hoot.
“The show is all about having as much fun as possible with the alphabet and I’m thrilled that the Alphablocks are coming to life on touch screens. It’s especially great that young children can interact with the Alphablocks themselves and make a real difference to their reading ability through discovery and play. The mini-games have all been designed to be highly playable and deliver effective multisensory learning at the same time." Joe Elliot, the award-winning creator of Alphablocks
We're also currently producing the much-anticipated app for BAFTA-nominated Numberblocks, the hit follow-up show to Alphablocks, so watch this space!
