Yes folks, it’s that time of year again when applications open for our summer internships, and this year we’re excited to offer opportunities in both our 2D and 3D studios.

We have 8 roles in total, including 2D Storyboarder, Modelling, Look Dev/Lighting & Comp Artist, 2D Background Artist, Visual Development Artist, 2D Animator, 3D Maya Animator and 3D Rigger. Each internship will take place for 6-8 weeks over July and August this year and will be paid positions (see full job descriptions for details).

These internships are designed to give budding artists realistic, hands-on experience working in roles they are keen to pursue as a career and are ideal for people have no professional experience but some entry-level knowledge in their preferred area. Second-year students and self-taught artists with at least a year of training under their belts are welcome to apply, but please note that applicants who have already been employed in the industry (even for a short amount of time) won’t be accepted.

Our internships provide a great combination of skills development, exposure to studio life, the opportunity to work on real productions with the best people in the industry, and the chance to build that essential network of contacts. However, there are no expectations other than listening, learning and making the most of the opportunity. Don’t forget, a high proportion of our interns end up working full-time at Blue Zoo, so it’s a fantastic opportunity.
